Steven Banks is a New York Times best-selling writer who received an Emmy nomination as head writer on SpongeBob SquarePants. He also wrote for The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron and CatDog, has appeared on TV shows like Penn & Teller's Fool Us, attended Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College, wrote a book called King of the Creeps, co-created the international theater sensation Shadowland, and lives in California with his wife.

What fun! I’ll be putting on my guest bookseller hat from 10 AM to 11 AM to celebrate Small Business Saturday with my friends at Chevalier’s, the oldest independent bookstore in Los Angeles. Please stop by and say ahwoo! You can buy a book and enjoy beautiful Larchmont Blvd., one of my favorite LA ‘hoods and the perfect place to grab excellent coffee and a scrumptious Saturday breakfast.

I can’t wait to visit Solvang, the cute-as-a-wooden-shoe Danish town in the heart of the gorgeous Santa Ynez valley wine country, near Santa Barbara. Come for the day, see the windmills, eat Danish pastries, ride the old-fashioned trolley and visit the Hans Christian Andersen museum. But most of all, come by The Book Loft’s annual open house! A day of fun is planned for the whole family at this wonderful indie bookstore, with authors scurrying about like the little enchanted mice we are.

Open House lasts all day, from 9 AM - 8 PM. I’ll be on hand to sign books around 4:30 PM PM. See you there!

OH NO! The poor air quality in the Bay Area due to smoke from the tragic fires north of San Francisco have made it necessary to cancel tonight’s event. There will be signed books in stock at the bookstore for you to purchase. We’ll reschedule a pizza party soon. Much #loveawoo to all who have suffered during this disaster. xoxo
